Biography
Alexander Walker is a British artist based in London and Hamburg. He studied at Central St Martin's and at Chelsea College of Art where he was awarded the Eversheds prize for painting with his piece entitled "Anna, Streatham". He has exhibited his work extensively throughout the UK, including a solo exhibition at the Sassoon Gallery, London, entitled "Galvanized Female Juncture".

Creating a narrative is a primary concern within his practice. In his current work, he is exploring ways of transcribing imagery found in Renaissance depictions of Greco-Roman and Catholic mythology into contemporary stories. An ongoing fascination with the technical process of painting drives Alexander's experimentation with the subtle augmentation of the relationships between background and foreground. The gentle distortion of perspective in a non-overt way adds a touch of surreality to his compositions.
